OC: Roderick Emberheart

Roderick Emberheart
Art by Me
My first ever d&d character, originally a half-elf ranger for 'Curse of Strahd', later reused as a Battlemaster Fighter for my friend's campaign, 'The Trials of Seven'! A deeply flawed man with a very bloody past, present, and (likely) future. Also written a few short stories about him, from his experiences in the 'Trial of Seven': Appearance Shaved head, pointy ears, a number of facial tattoos and markings. Generally, his body is free of major scars or obvious injury. Deep, furrowed brow. Sharp features. Some stubble. Tends to wear fairly unassuming, plain clothes, covering himself with a green cloak. Later took to wearing a black cloak with golden trims and studded leather armor marked with the emblem of his doomed faction, The Godslayers. Biography Grew up as a hunter for his tribe. His country was absorbed into the First Order — he wormed his way into their military and became a backline archer, amassing kills. He found and butchered the man who killed his parents — but the flame inside him never died. Eventually became a Zonerator — a leader of a special ops unit. Committed many atrocities in their name, earning the title "Emberheart" for burning towns. Likely doesn't remember his surname — repressed it long ago. Later became a semi-retired mercenary, obsessed with his past. Met a group of adventurers in "The Trials of Seven" and found glory again. They slew one of the undead "Godkings" of the desert, forming a guild called "The Godslayers." Eventually, they defeated Callus, the original foe of the Godkings, losing much of their army in the process. Roderick stayed behind in Sandamaru to help rebuild — and possibly use it as a tool for his own ends. Though more heroic now, his ambition and thirst for power remain.
