OC: Fidelius Frink

My Kenku 'Way of the long death' Monk character from my friend's campaign, 'Red Umbra'! What follows is some info from his character sheet: Biography Fidelius is a young adult kenku who spent the majority of his teenage years studying and training under followers of the way of the long death, and more recently has been travelling from settlement to settlement in a journey of personal discovery. As a child, he was a member of a flock of thieves, being raised as an expert thief up until the point his closest relatives were killed in a failed heist, with him as the sole survivor. He managed to escape and he ran away from the town where he was born, with nowhere in particular to go. His brush with death left him obsessed with his own mortality, holding a strong belief that he should have died that day and leaving him wracked with guilt that he did not. The constant thoughts about his death eventually lead him towards a monastery that praised death, and also lead him to follow the raven queen. Many of the order around him became like a surrogate family which brought him some peace but never quite felt right, leading him to eventually bid them farewell to go on his travels. Outside of this order, he has never held down many relations. As a wanderer he never stayed in one place too long and as a result of a lack of general guidance he struggles with many common social conventions and ettiquette. While he may be quite somber at times he tends be quite excitable and almost childish in some situations. With the party he feels he has a chance to change his life for the better, and to finally have some people he can rely on as friends. May be rather clingy to his new colleagues, and will try to protect them in any way he can. Update: Recent events have lead to a somewhat personal crisis of his beliefs, any peace he may have had with his eventual death replaced with fear of his own mortality. Still tries to believe that everything has its time and everything dies, but struggles to believe the same of himself. Unsure of his role in all of this, and his decisions which have lead to him being with the party. Later Update: Months of training, meditation and preparation to be able to protect himself have left fidelius less nervous than before - though still quite wary and pragmatic, he's more relaxed, and eager to head back out to take down the bloodhearts with his friends. Personality Traits - Somewhat childish and awkward due to a lack of communication in his youth, though generally kindhearted and wellmeaning. - Can be a fairly somber and anxious person, though in happier times is far more giddy and friendly. Bonds Deeply cares for the party as a sort of family, though somewhat too scared to place himself directly in harm's way to save them from their own mistakes. Flaws A crisis of beliefs and a freshly installed fear of death has lead to Fidel being risk averse to a fault.
